Your Complete Guide to Our Refreshed Web App Experience
Over the past months, we’ve heard your feedback about navigation, discoverability, and the overall user experience across our suite of products—ATu, KinesioU, Neuroscience, OTu, PhysioU, and SportsMed. We’re excited to share that we’ve completely reimagined how you and your students interact with our platform!
Recently, our Education Leads team hosted a comprehensive tour of the refreshed web app experience, walking faculty through every new feature, enhancement, and improvement we’ve built. Whether you’re teaching athletic training, occupational therapy, physical therapy, kinesiology, sports medicine or neuroscience, these changes are designed to make your work easier and your students’ learning more intuitive.
A Personalized Dashboard That Welcomes You Home
Gone are the days of landing on a static page. When you log in now, you’re greeted by a personalized dashboard that serves as your home base—a central hub
designed to make every visit more productive and engaging.
The centerpiece of this new experience is our daily quiz feature, and it’s smarter than you might expect. Rather than serving generic questions, the quiz adapts to where your students are in their learning journey. If a student has been working through the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation app, for instance, they’ll receive questions tailored to that specific content area. This intelligent customization means every student gets a learning experience that aligns with your curriculum and their current focus. Students can track their progress through win streaks and correct answer rates, adding a layer of gamification that encourages consistent engagement. And when they answer incorrectly? They receive detailed explanations for both the right answer and why the other options didn’t fit—turning every question into a teaching moment.
Navigation Redesigned for the Modern Experience
Perhaps the most immediately visible change is our shift from top navigation to a sleek sidebar. This isn’t just about aesthetics—though the modern look and feel is something we’re proud of. It’s about creating a more intuitive and accessible way to move through the platform.
For faculty who teach across multiple disciplines or have access to several of our products, the product switcher in the top left makes it effortless to move between, say, PhysioU and Neuroscience, or OTu and ATu. Your profile and account options now live at the bottom of the sidebar, where you can quickly update your password, change your email, switch languages, or even toggle to our new dark theme for those late-night planning sessions. We’ve also added an announcements feature that keeps you informed about new releases and important updates without overwhelming your inbox. When there’s something exciting to share, you’ll see it right there in the bottom left corner of your screen.
The App Catalog: Everything in One Unified View
One of the most requested improvements was around how apps are organized, and we’ve completely reimagined the app catalog to address this. Now, didactic apps and simulations live side by side in a unified organization. You’ll find Acute Care right next to Acute Care Simulations, Assistive Mobility Devices alongside Assistive Devices Simulations. This proximity makes it significantly easier for both faculty and students to locate related content without jumping between different sections.
Of course, flexibility matters too. You can still filter to view only main applications—those foundational, content-rich apps with thousands of videos and instructional pages—or focus exclusively on e-learning modules and simulations. The topic-based organization remains as well, allowing you to browse by categories like Fundamental Skills, NeuroRehab, or Acute Care, then drill down further using the filtering tabs.
For programs that have elected to include our premium apps—Wound Care Fundamentals and NeuroAnatomy—these now have their own dedicated section for easy access. And if you ever need a quick refresher on how to navigate the catalog, the “Start a Tour” button provides guided assistance without leaving the page.
Tools That Work Harder for You
We’ve given special attention to features that faculty rely on most. The Educator Dashboard remains your command center for managing e-learning modules and simulations, but now it’s just one click away on the sidebar. Once you’ve set up your student cohort and connected accounts—a simple process your Education Lead can walk you through—you can monitor student progress in real time and manage assignments with unprecedented ease.
For students, the My Course Assignments view eliminates any ambiguity about what’s due and when. Everything you assign appears front and center, organized clearly with completion status and scores. We’ve also made sure this view is accessible from a tile on the homepage, so even students who get lost can quickly find their way back to their assignments.
Bookmarks Get a Major Upgrade
The bookmark tool has always been popular among faculty for creating customized content lists, and we’ve made it even more powerful. Now, each bookmarked video displays with a thumbnail image, description, and a direct link to the source app—no more losing track of where that perfect demonstration video lives within your suite.
The real game-changer is the new filter feature. Within any bookmark collection, you can quickly search for specific content—say, all your knee-related videos—without scrolling through your entire list. You can also organize bookmarks into sections with custom headings, making it simple to structure content by week, topic, or learning objective. Perhaps most exciting is the enhanced sharing capability. With one click, you can email a bookmark collection to colleagues or students, copy the URL to embed in your LMS, or add it as a link in your syllabus or lab handouts. This transforms bookmarks from a personal organization tool into a powerful content distribution system.
Search That Actually Understands You
Our AI-enhanced search engine has found a new permanent home in the top right corner of every page. But here’s a power user tip: press the backslash key on your keyboard, and the search bar launches instantly, no matter where you are on the platform.
The search doesn’t just match keywords—it understands context and relevance, surfacing the most pertinent results first. Looking for electrical stimulation techniques? Lab guides for physical agents? The search delivers exactly what you need, including access to our comprehensive handouts that provide procedure overviews, indications, contraindications, and practical guidance—perfect for lab preparation or student reference materials.
The Learning Center: Your New Knowledge Hub
We’ve centralized all how-to resources, guided tours, and educator materials in one convenient location: the Learning Center. Instead of hunting through old emails or support articles, everything you need to maximize the platform lives here.
The Learning Center offers four introductory tours for general orientation, plus specific guided walkthroughs for every major feature we’ve discussed today. For faculty, there are direct links to curricular standards documents, upcoming webinar schedules, and quick app tutorials—everything you might need to onboard a new colleague or refresh your own knowledge. This centralization means faster onboarding for you and, just as importantly, for your incoming students each semester. They can get up to speed independently, freeing you to focus on teaching rather than troubleshooting navigation questions.
What’s Coming Next
Innovation doesn’t stop with today’s release. We’re actively developing new content across all disciplines, and we wanted to give you a preview of what’s in the pipeline:
- For occupational therapy, we’re building a Feeding, Eating, and Swallowing app featuring the same child filmed monthly from birth through 12 months, allowing students to observe developmental progression in a uniquely longitudinal way. We’re also partnering with the STAR Institute to create a comprehensive Sensory Integration app grounded in the AIRS Foundation framework.
- Our Evidence-Based Taping app is getting a refresh with updated techniques, multi-angle shots, 360-degree views, and enhanced reassessment content.
- The Running and Gait apps will expand with new patients demonstrating both normal variations and deviations that become apparent at different speeds and intensities.
- We’re also developing a Human Movement and Biomechanics app that will break down common movements—like squats with different biomechanical biases—showing how force distribution changes across joints.
- And our Therapeutic Exercise app will launch with over 900 videos showing not just proper technique but common errors, giving students the critical eye they need for effective patient instruction and correction.
These additions are direct results of your feedback, and we’re grateful for the time you’ve taken to share your insights with us.
Moving Forward Together
This refreshed experience represents months of development work, but more fundamentally, it represents our commitment to listening and responding to what you and your students need. Every feature we’ve built, every navigation choice we’ve made, stems from real feedback from real educators working in real classrooms.
We know change can feel daunting, even when it’s positive. That’s why we’ve built extensive support resources, created comprehensive guided tours, and ensured your education lead is just a message away. Whether you want a program-wide walkthrough, one-on-one classroom support, or a faculty demo, we’re here to help you transition smoothly and confidently. You can book time directly with your Education Lead or reach out through email anytime with questions, comments, or feedback. Because at the end of the day, we advance together. Your success in the classroom drives our work here, and we’re honored to support your teaching and your students’ learning every step of the way. Welcome to your refreshed web app experience. We think you’re going to love it!
