Featured Speaker: Dr. Sarah McCadden, OTD, OTR/L

Dr. Sarah McCadden is an Assistant Professor at Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences in Fishersville, Virginia. She has been teaching in the Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) program for over five years, primarily instructing courses on adult musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions, as well as OT organization and practice management. She also is a support instructor in the Kinesiology lab and is a faculty facilitator of the Interprofessional Seminar Series with OT, PT, and PA students.

With 20+ years of clinical experience, Dr. McCadden has worked in acute care, outpatient, home health, inpatient rehab, and skilled nursing. She has developed programs to support neurological populations in rehabilitation settings and worked to build and enhance interprofessional student fieldwork experiences. As an active advocate for individuals with chronic conditions, she currently leads a Parkinson’s support group in the Shenandoah Valley.

For over four years, she has integrated OTu into her courses to strengthen doctoral OT students’ skills in assessing and treating adults with musculoskeletal conditions.
