Celebrating a Major Milestone: Clinical Pattern Achieves WCAG 2.2 AA Accessibility Compliance
We are now fully aligned with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards ahead of April 2026 requirements.
Accessibility has always been a core priority for our product and engineering teams. Over the past year, we undertook a comprehensive accessibility review across the entire Clinical Pattern platform—evaluating every application, simulation, e-learning activity, and page to ensure it meets modern accessibility expectations and Department of Justice (DOJ) guidance.
This work represents a significant investment in creating a learning environment that is inclusive, flexible, and accessible to all learners.
The Scale of the Accessibility Review
To achieve WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, our team conducted a full audit and remediation effort across the platform:
- 7,000+ educational videos reviewed and enhanced
- 200+ e-learning modules and simulations evaluated and updated
- Every application interface and page tested for accessibility standards
This process included detailed accessibility testing, remediation of legacy content, and implementation of improvements to ensure our platform supports a wide range of learning needs.
What This Means for Faculty and Students
These improvements help ensure that the Clinical Pattern suite is usable for learners and educators with diverse accessibility needs, including those with visual or hearing impairments.
Key enhancements include:
- Screen reader compatibility across applications, simulations, and course content
- Full keyboard navigation support for users who cannot rely on a mouse
- Descriptive transcripts and audio enhancements for video-based learning materials
- Improved semantic structure and labeling to support assistive technologies
Together, these updates help ensure students can fully participate in learning experiences regardless of how they access course materials.
Our Commitment to Accessible Learning
Accessibility is not a one-time effort. It is an ongoing commitment. As accessibility standards evolve, our team will continue to evaluate and improve the Clinical Pattern platform to maintain alignment with current WCAG guidance and DOJ accessibility expectations.
Our goal is simple: make high-quality clinical education accessible to every learner.
