Featured Speaker: Alyssa Arms PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Alyssa Arms, PT, DPT, OCS, is the founder of Back in Step Physical Therapy in Colorado, specializing in treating dancers and other performing artists, with over 30 years of dance training, and she actively competes on the national swing dance circuit. She is also a Clinical Senior Instructor at the University of Colorado Anschutz in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Her teaching responsibilities include Foundations of Intervention I, Examination and Evaluation II, Professional Development II, Healthcare Delivery II, and is a content expert on hypermobility and wound care. Dr. Arms earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of Denver and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Colorado Anschutz. Dr. Arms is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the APTA Performing Arts Special Interest Group’s Nominating Committee, Doctors for Dancers, Performing Arts Medical Association, the National Dance Education Organization, and the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS). At IADMS, she serves as the founding chair of the Small Business Owners Special Interest Group.
