PhysioU-AOPT Practice Guidelines Package

PhysioU has been reviewed and verified by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. As with all AOPT Vendor Partners, a percentage of the sales revenue from this guideline implementation tool is shared with the AOPT to support the development, revision, and dissemination of their CPGs.

Interactive Learning Modules for the CPGs
These modules make the content of the CPG pdfs “come alive” with videos depicting ICF-based pattern-specific clinical decision making, movement analysis, motor learning, exercise sequences, examination procedures, manual/manipulative procedures, and external device applications. These modules also have healthy doses of instructional graphics, educational games, and case examples with OCS-style multiple-choice examination questions.
Video Library of the CPG Manual Procedures & Exercises
High-quality videos of the manual examination and treatment procedures, linked to ICF-based impairment patterns, are an efficient way to learn and retain the hands-on examination and treatment skills required for effective implementation of the CPGs. The videos address impairments of individuals with common musculoskeletal conditions. Multiple procedures are sequenced in the videos, presented in an order of how they are commonly applied.

Lab Handouts
One-page handouts of the lab sequences for each of the videos of the CPG-related manual procedures, with performance cues for each procedure, are provided to help guide the instruction and skill acquisition of the examination and treatment procedures.

Integrated Clinical Decision Trees
The CPG decision trees are popular guideline implementation tools. They provide direct clinical application of the CPGs recommendations. These integrative decision trees combine multiple trees from the upper quarter and lower quarter into two inter-regional decision trees.
The digital format of the integrative decision trees and layout provides a quick reference tool to train pattern recognition, differential diagnosis, data interpretation, treatment prioritization, and regional interdependence.

Orthopaedics
Clinical Pattern Recognition: Orthopaedics is an extensive app, based on the AOPT/JOSPT CPGs, that provides evidence-based evaluation and treatment guidance for the common musculoskeletal patterns of all body regions. This is PhysioU’s flagship app. This app integrates movement analysis and reeducation to address common movement errors linked to each condition, has thousands of high-definition videos, and is updated regularly with the latest evidence from the scientific literature.
Exercises are most therapeutic when they are targeted to address the physical impairments linked to an individual’s musculoskeletal condition. The APTA/JOSPT clinical practice guidelines describe common musculoskeletal conditions and the relevant physical impairments of mobility, muscle power, coordination, and pain linked to each condition.

Exercise Patterns
Exercise Patterns embeds this guidance to support the decisions clinicians and their clients need to make regarding the optimal exercises and the progression of those exercises for their specific musculoskeletal conditions.
Exercise Patterns provides guidelines-driven exercise options for injury prevention, acute-injury care, management of common sub-acute and chronic conditions, recovery from post-operative conditions, and plans to enhance performance and return to sport.
